Tara Crowley is an American photographer focusing on environments natural, urban, human and interperative. Born and raised in California, Crowley learned to love the photographic process through her Great Aunt, Lou Goodale Bigelow, an early 20th century professional photographer of some note.  A writer and musician in the 1970s, Crowley turned to photography as her foremost artistic expression.

A Fine Arts graduate of University of California at Santa Cruz, Crowley currently resides near Sacramento. In 2015 she collaborated for a year with photographers Steve Barbour and Bob Jensen to document the Sacramento Street Fair.  The resulting book, Three Buck Cover, is available on Blurb.com.

In March 2015, she and her husband Steve Barbour traveled to Cuba for a workshop with celebrated photographer Peter Turnley.  Workshop participants had unusual access to cultural events, venues, schools and neighborhoods due to Mr. Turnley's long standing relationship with the Cuban artistic community.
